Parker Bros. Auto Co. has been in operation for over 80 years and has seen many changes during this time.
The business was originally established by brothers Perc and Arthur Parker in Colac in 1919. Initially they started selling Indian motorcycles, however this all changed when Perc Parker, my grandfather opened a dealership in Warrnambool in 1923 with the intention of selling Dodge cars. In 1927 he was then granted the General Motors franchise.
I first began my career in the business in 1981 in the workshop, I then went on to sell my first car in 1984 and then became Dealer Principal In 2003.
In 1987 we sold the Warrnambool business and opened Parker Bros. Auto Co. in Shepparton. Today we are a complete dealership offering both New Holdens, Used Cars with both Service and Spare Parts departments being a major component of the company. We also now operate the GMH dealership in Euroa. Between the two dealerships we now employ over 40 staff members.
